Another Big Fat Book...
Posted on Wednesday, February 05 @ 21:06:21 PST by kadams

Asheron's Call 2 News Lila has published another "big fat book" note. This one seems less intriguing than the last...

There are a few more hints regarding the possible upcoming mount. Apparently it will be fast, faster than Vakentu's Haste (which I think is a 30% speed buff). Which still doesn't sound really fast to me, but its better than nothing I guess

There are also some clarifications regarding the "coming soon" monster ability to pass through some objects. Apparently it will be limited to small shrubs and small rocks. I still will take a "wait and see" attitude on this one, since they are also making changes to prevent situations where monsters and players can't attack each other (based on bumps in the ground or whatever is causing it). These two changes could interact in interesting ways...

One of my favorite bits in Lila's post goes like this:

  • Most of our class skills are broken. Serpentine evasion isn't doing anything. Onslaught and blur are broken...long list of broken stuff in a class
This is one of the top priorities on the Overseers list at the moment.

Heavens to Betsy! Its on their list! The fact that most of the skills for a particular class don't work at all is something they are "thinking" about. I can almost hear them laughing so hard that their coffee comes out their nostrils as they wrote this. Interestingly, there is no further indication of whether these are actual problems, or whether they will be fixed at any particular time.

Yep, being a game designer must have its moments.
