EverQuest's latest expansion, Gates of Discord, is likely to be released sometime in March.
This new expansion will add "instanced" dungeons to the game. That is, some dungeons (about 10 of the 20 in the expansion) will create unique copies of themselves for each group of people that enter. This feature isn't exactly "new": mission terminals in Anarchy Online, for example, do exactly the same thing. But it might be a welcome breath of fresh air for people tired of camping...

SOE to offer ''all titles'' access package
I came across this news item regarding an "all access" subscription for SoE games. The basic premise is that, for one fee, you can have access to all of the online games Sony Online owns (Everquest, PlanetSide, EverQuest II, EverQuest Online Adventures...). Apparently, the price will be $21.99 U.S.: not bad for all those titles
Unfortunately, this does not include Star Wars Galaxies, which Sony doesn't "own".

SoE dedicated to EverQuest
This story on Allakhaazams has some interesting dialog between representatives of SoE and certain interviewers. The key piece that intrigues me is the fact that good old EverQuest (not EQ2, not SWG) will be around for a long, long time...

SOE has announced another new feature coming as part of the Legacy of Ykesha expansion: an NPC chat journal tool.
This sounds like it will be a great advantage, and by itself may justify buying the expansion for some people. ...
